Extended Loan Period Program

G1–G3 GSAS students only

Currently graduate students can borrow books for a 28-day period with the option to renew in 28-day increments. A program is in place in Fine Arts, and Loeb Music libraries that extends the borrowing period to a term with the option to renew online up to five times. Due dates for extended privileges will be either February 10 or September 10, depending upon when the items are checked out. All material is subject to recall.

Graduate students who wish to participate in the Extended Loan Period Program can apply online through the GSAS Extended Loan Request form.

Applicants will be eligible for the new privileges one business day after their application is submitted. Extended loan borrowing privileges only apply to regular circulating material. Overdue fines and replacement costs will be billed through the Harvard University Term Bill Office.

Please note that G1-G3 students are automatically given extended loan privileges at Widener library.
